Somewhere over the Window Rainbow
During the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 in spring 2020 the rainbow became a symbol widely spread and taped on windows. The painted rainbows, often made by children, were put up to spread hope and symbolise a better place. Somewhere over the Window Rainbow is a series of paintings in which Markus Jäntti-Tuominen explores the different rainbows of something better. The paintings each depict a scene characterised by the symbol in pursuit of the better.
